Sullivan East Patriots Vs. David Crockett Pioneers
Girls Final Score: SE: 44 DC: 91
Jacob’s Thoughts:
This game was close for the first quartet, but Crockett’s girls team showed why they are the best team in the Upper Lakes Conference. 20pts for Aliyah Story, 16 for Laney Britton, 15 for Brylee Tullock, and 10 for Lacey Byrd, and Kayleigh Doner was utter domination. The Lady Pioneers in my opinion are one of the best girls teams in the area, if not the best, and don’t really belong in this conference. Asia Cairnes was a shining spot for the Lady Patriots finishing with 15, and 9 points were shared by Sophie Johnson and Kylie Hurley.
Boys Final Score: SE: 52 UC:59
Jacob’s Thoughts:
This game can honestly boiled down to the Patriots having “Alligator legs.” What I mean by that is that having played a total of 5 games in 6 days can kill a team, 3 of the 5 being before tip off. The Pioneers has only 2 previous games, one with the Patriots on Monday, and the other with West Ridge on Tuesday. The matchup of Fisher and Beason was fun to watch. Fisher won in scoring having 29, but Beason won the war with his 27. He got help from Reagan Cash who finished with 14 and did a great job guarding Corbin Laisure, who only had 7 on the night, compared to 21 on Monday. Grit and determination won the game for Crockett, and just a couple simple mistakes made by the Patriots in crunch time. Here’s hoping Tuesday’s game between Unicoi County and Sullivan East will go the way of both Patriot squads.
